Korres Raspberry Liquid Lipstick - Shade 13, Soft Pink - Swatched!

This liquid lipstick is a gorgeous muted pink, with a slightly coral undertone - although I thought, judging by the sticker at the end of the box, that it would be more of a baby pink. I'm glad it's not though as I adore the colour and also that it can be built up to be a slightly stronger shade.

It's a perfect hybrid between a lipstick and a lip gloss as it has more staying power than your average lipgloss, whilst keeping the fantastic shine that you come to expect from a gloss. It's also not sticky like a gloss, in fact it has a beautiful, silky feel to it that I like very much. I also feel that it is fairly moisturising on my lips compared to a gloss.

I love that there is a small amount of sparkle running through the liquid lipstick, but I love even more that I can't feel any gritty texture on my lips because of it. I can't stand feeling like I have bits of crap on my lips when wearing lip products with a chunkier shimmer running through it.

I get about 2-3 hours wear with it, without excessive eating/drinking which I think is quite good, considering the gloss finish, and the fact that it isn't a bright or dark shade that usually last a little longer, due to the nature of their more pigmented hues.

Available from various outlets such as Zuneta and Bath & Unwind for around £15.

Have you tried a liquid lipstick before?

No flash, dull day.

Swatches: No7 High Shine Lipgloss - Smile!

I got this lip gloss in a gift with purchase set quite a while ago but have only just got around to using it. I quite like it, it’s not a bright gloss – it’s actually rather sheer, but it’s great for daywear when you don’t want to rock a strong lip.

The gloss comes with a brush instead of the usual sponge-type applicator, which I quite like.

They say:

"A collagen boosting, moisturising gloss that glides on for voluptuous smoothing shine. With vitamins that protect and care."

I do find it to be quite smoothing (even on slightly dry lips), although not a miracle worker... it’s still a nice finish all the same. I have always liked glosses, I like the fullness they give to my lips – and this one is no different, but I am currently redeveloping my love for lipsticks lately, it has to be said.

Anyway, I’m still contemplating having some kind of permanent makeup on my lips to even them out (as I feel they’re slightly wonky) so it’s not going to make me call off the search (Wahanda and Groupon are my best friends, currently), even though I do get the illusion of them being fuller with this.

Lanolips Lip Ointment/Balm/Gloss In Rose!

My final Lanolips product that I received as one of my birthday presents is their Lip Ointment, basically a bit of a cross between a balm and a gloss in that it’s moisturising but also gives lovely colour and shine in the process. It’s got the magic ingredient, Lanolin in it along with a few other ingredients that look surprisingly unscary and actually contains sunscreen to boot.

L-R below - Apples, Rose, Dark Honey, Sunshine, Rhubarb
I received this in ‘Rose’ (second from the left in the photo above) which you may think is weird if you have read my recent post on Lanolips Rose Balm Intense and my dislike of rose scented products; however unlike the Rose scent, the colour Rose is not something that I dislike... in fact I love it.

I especially love Lanolips Rose as it’s a beautiful dusky pink that looks very natural on the lips as it’s fairly sheer, colour wise but you can build up a little more colour if that’s what you like, but personally I keep my application quite light.

Talking of application, I was expecting a slanted top to the tube, much like my Lancome Juicy Tubes and other similar products, but this just has a normal flat tube top so I find it easier to apply with my fingers; it’s not ideal for me, but it’s not a deal breaker either.

I’ve just noticed that some of my pictures of the product on my hand (above) look a bit phallic – sorry about that haha!

Below are various swatches on my lips, close up. I've posted 3 of them because I think each one shows the shade slightly differently when in different lights/lighting conditions.

I was surprised by the consistency of this ‘lip ointment’ as it’s really very thick... sooo much thicker than I expected and frankly it needs a good squeeze to even get it out of the tube. It’s not at all sticky, it’s balmier more than anything – this is a very good thing.

Scent wise, to me it smells a little like vanilla-like and generally quite sweet, although not overpoweringly so – in fact the scent is very faint, I don’t think it would offend anybody whether they liked nor disliked scented lip products.

I now want rhubarb, apples and possibly sunshine in my make-up collection (I was told that Sunshine wasn’t as scary on the lips as it looks in the tube, on Twitter by Ms Lanolips herself, Kirsten Carriol) – I’ve heard that there’s a 3 for 2 offer on at Boots.com so I might just have to take advantage of that to stock up!

Have you tried Lanolips before? What do you think if you have? If you haven’t, would this range interest you?

Illamasqua Succubus Lip Gloss (Throb Collection)!

This juicy red lip gloss is part of the much talked about Illamasqua ‘Throb’ collection for Valentine’s Day 2011. It’s a beautiful red, and more importantly it feels like a flattering one on my skin tone... which doesn’t always accept reds that well.

I’ve done my close up lip swatches with and without flash and I thought that instead of just blobbing and smearing the product on my hand that I’d make it a little more interesting, since it’s almost Valentine’s day – what do you think?

Swatches: Eyeko London Lip Gloss - Primrose Hill!

I’ve been wearing this lip gloss quite a lot since I bought it, but it’s only just occurred to me that I haven’t yet swatched it for you, so I’m rectifying this right away – hope you like!

The gloss looks like a dusky candy floss pink when in the tube, with what looks to be very fine gold sparkles running through it. On the lips it’s actually a lot sheerer than I had imagined which is still nice but obviously not what I was expecting. The shimmery particles a gorgeous though, they catch the light perfectly.

I’ve even tried to get more colour by putting loads (and I mean LOADS - shown on the swatch below) on my lips, but still it doesn't look quite like the colour in the tube (and I don't think I'd want to wear it so heavily either) – whatever, I still like (and wear) it.

The gloss is very silky (no feeling of the fine shimmery particles running through it) and is only very slightly sticky, not anywhere near enough to put me off using it though. It has a fruity scent, but no taste and the staying power is decent enough - I mean you’re not going to get through a meal without the need for reapplication but it’s better than I’d imagined it would be, to be honest!

Eyeko Glosses are priced at £6.50 from the Eyeko website and are available in many other colours – I have my eye on Soho as it looks like it might just have a bit more colour to it when on the lips.

You should definitely keep an eye on their fan pages on Twitter and Facebook as they seem to do quite a lot offers on them, and also if you look to the left of the page on their shop they usually have a free item if you spend over a certain amount too!

Anyway if you do decide to order anything from the site, please feel free to use my Ambassador code E9897 and you’ll get a free gift in with your purchase for doing so, which is always a nice bonus.

NARS Velvet Gloss Lip Pencils!

It seems that my email has been witholding emails and when I thought that I didn't have further information on the new NARS Velvet Gloss Lip Pencils, I actually did... it just wasn't showing me the email, so this is just a quick post showing you the colours and a little film about them. I did have a longer post almost complete but I lost it all through technical problems - namely the save function failing me, so sorry about that.

The pencils are everything their ‘Velvet Matte’ counterparts are, but glossy instead; and they're available in: New Lover, Happy Days, Hopi, Frivolous, Baroque and Club Mix, priced at £17.50 each.

http://narscosmetics.co.uk/

"The launch is celebrated by a film collaboration with famed fashion director Ruth Hogben, who turned to model Heather Marks for an evocative portrayal of the Pencils. An effortlessly seductive makeup look, created by Diane Kendal, keeps the focus on Marks’ mouth as all six shades of the Velvet Gloss Lip Pencil are used throughout. A juxtaposition of lip-synching with sudden and unexpected sound creates a tension between what Marks appears to be “saying” and what the viewer actually hears."

Swatches: Daniel Sandler Liquicolor - Raspberry Shine!

I bought this Daniel Sandler lip-gloss at the Professional Beauty Show last month and I’ve only just managed to take a good look at it. The colour, Raspberry Shine’ is quite a bright pink that I feel would be quite flattering to most skin types.

It appears to have tiny reflecting particles in it, but it’s not at all glittery, the shine is exceptional considering there’s no glitter element to it. The consistency is quite thick but it’s not gloopy or overly sticky considering it is a lip gloss and the pigmentation is fantastic – which means you don’t need to slather it on to get a decent colour!

Without flash:

Because of this, it actually lasts quite well and I’ve found that even when the shine has gone I still have a bit of colour stain left on my lips, which helps to keep them looking nice until I can top it up again. I think this may be a little bit more difficult to get hold of now, but if you do find yourself considering a purchase then I do recommend it from my experience.

Victoria Beckhams 'Must Have Lip Glosses'

According to Victoria Beckham on Twitter.com 1 hour ago, these 2 lip glosses are apparently must haves in your makeup bags.

They are Burberry Lip Glow glosses No. 9 and No. 10 and below are sample images taken from the Burberry website to show you what they look like, but first the blurb from the Harrods website:

"Plump, moisturise and add a hint of fresh colour with Burberry Lip Glow. This natural lip gloss has a ceramide complex formula that fills fine lines from within, leaving lips supple, and glowing with natural highlights.
  • Natural lip gloss
  • Creamy, adherent texture
  • Light oils and spherical powders give fluidity and comfort
  • Reflects light to create illusion of plumper, fuller lips
  • Ceramide complex recreates the intercellular cement
  • Hydrating formula keeps lips replenished
  • Fine lines are filled from within
  • Foam tip applicator
  • 6ml"

No. 9 (Nude Beige)

No. 10 (Nutmeg)

I think I might have to get my paws on these as they look lurrrvley from the pictures above, and if they're good enough for VB then they're good enough for little old me haha. If you want to purchase one for yourself they retail at £18 each (haven't found anywhere cheaper as they appear to be sold exclusively at Harrods and on the official Burberry website), and here are the all important links.
