Muji 'Kardashian' Style 5 Drawer Unit Available Online Right Now!

I've just ordered 2 units to add to my collection, and I am super excited about receiving them... possibly a bit more excited than I should be, maybe.  ;-)

I thought I'd let you know as I know that some of you were very interested in these.  I also know there's limited stock of them available, so it might be worth ordering online if you're not sure when you might get in store to buy one.

Hope this post works ok, it's the first time I've tried it on my phone.

Muji Kardashian Style 5 Drawer Acrylic Makeup Storage!

Muji 5 Drawer.
Kardashian.
Kardashian.
I'm sure everybody has seen or heard about the acrylic beauty storage box that was shown on an episode (or 2) of  Keeping up with the Kardashians, haven't they? I believe it was a Clear Cube unit, highly expensive and basically unavailable to the UK! Anyway, it was seeing this that made me desire acrylic storage for my own make-up, it's just so organised and it looks fab, don't you think?!

I started buying Muji acrylic storage for my bits, but they only came in 1 and 2 drawer options - which is fine as they stack well and do the job, but I still lusted after something more for my large beauty collection; and ever since I saw a 5 drawer wide acrylic storage unit on the US Muji site, I've been wondering if we'd ever be able to get our mitts on it here in the UK.

Well, my wait is over as it's heading over here right now and will be available in stores and online from August 24th, priced at £24.95 - a bargain, really.
I actually can't wait to get my hands on one (or two), although I'm told that stock is limited so time will be of the essence!

Will you be buying one... or at least trying? x

An Idea For Empty Feel Unique Beauty Boxes!

If you receive regular monthly beauty boxes, and like me feel that it's a shame to throw away such a useful box, you'll have an ever growing stash of them to match my own. I use mine to store various bits and bobs in (as do most of you, I expect), but have found an even better way of doing this with my Feel Unique boxes.

Since they have a drawer-like action to open them, I felt that these would be put to even better use by stacking them up and securing with double sided tape to make mini sets of drawers. You can make them tall and thin or even tall and wide (by taping them side by side and on top of each other)  depending on what sized work space you have to fit them on.
For me, doing this makes them more sturdy, less likely to be moved and forgotten about (or put somewhere safe and lost) and generally just a lot more useful in my day to day life.

You can even customise your drawers to fit in with your room décor by using things like gems, stuck on with glue (if you want to 'bling' them up), or even wallpaper samples that you can get for free from most DIY stores.

I'll quite possibly be doing this on the tops of the 'drawer' sets, just to hide the Feel Unique branding (although as far as brandings goes, it actually isn't hideous), or over the top and down the 2 sides - but I haven't 100% decided on this yet, hence my wallpaper piece is only slightly stuck on to show you the rough idea!
I've found that storing hair bits in these works very well for me, I was always looking for a hair grip or bobble etc when I didn't have a dedicated place for storing them, but now I can easily turn to my 'drawers' and find what I need., they're the perfect size for them!

You could store make-up, make-up brushes (brilliant to keep any household dust etc away from them), nail tools, jewellery, cotton wool products and god knows what else in them, so long as it fit in then the list of possibilities is endless.

This is such a low cost alternative to Muji-like storage (which can work out as being too expensive for some) as they really do the same job, just without the ability to see into the box without opening it - a small price to pay if you're on a budget.
Unfortunately since I wrote this post, Feel Unique boxes have been discontinued - however you may still have them lying around, unloved and I thought this would still be handy.

Apologies for my photographs, it was dark when I managed to get supplies together to show you as much of a step by step as possible, so there's a tinge of yellow from the lamp we have in the room, and when using full flash, the boxes looked odd and I'm only just learning about bouncing the flash, so this is my first public attempt haha.

Is this something you have considered/would consider doing with your boxes?

Makeup Storage - Muji!

As you can imagine, I have a lot of makeup items – all of which need to be stored, so I’ve been looking into various storage options but keep coming back to the same thing... Muji!

My storage needs to look good, it’s going to be visible in my bedroom so I don’t want something that is just functional (which is what I currently have, in many forms that will find their places in my wardrobe as hidden storage when the time comes) and the Muji acrylic range just seems to tick the boxes.

These are the options that I’ve been considering:
Acrylic Partition Desk Tidy £6.95 – I was thinking about using one of these to store my brushes and pencils.
Acrylic Stand, Large £5.95 – I’m considering using one or two of these to store my perfume bottles on, and possibly any palettes I have too.
Acrylic Box - 2 Drawers, Wide £10.95 – I think I’d like 2 of these for general storage of individual pieces of makeup.
Acrylic Box - 2 Drawers With Flip-Top Lid, Wide – This would go on top of the other 2 drawer units as mentioned above as I just think it would be nice for more general makeup storage that was accessible from the top rather than a drawer. It would also stop me using the top as a dumping ground for other bits if it was to be needed to be kept clear to access the top compartment.

This all comes to a grand total of £57.20 which is quite a lot really... well for makeup storage anyway and I’m already thinking about the makeup I could buy with this money; however I think it could be money well spent as I’ve seen it on a few other blogs and it always looks so lovely, and I think my makeup would be better protected in there too.

What do you think about Muji storage? Do you think it’s worth paying extra for this kind of storage or would you prefer to save the cash and spend it on something different? Have you got any other options that look great and are still functional for your storage?
