China Glaze Monsters Ball Collection for Halloween 2013

I love glitter, I do... but then you'll know this if you've been a regular reader of this blog; and so when I spy a glitter nail polish, my interest is automatically piqued, just like it was when I spotted these glitter-fabulous China Glaze 'Monsters Ball' collection images in my inbox today.

The shades are as follows (from left to right reads from top to bottom):

Ghoulish Glow: Glow-in-the-Dark top coat
Howl You Doin’: Shadowy purple glitter
Fang-Tastic: Mysteriously mixed up green, blue and magenta glitter
Boo-Gie Down: Multi-sized orange, black and white glitter
Bat My Eyes: Ominous gold glitter
Bump In The Night: Hair-raising black texture

I'm totally eying up the whole collection, especially the purple and gold glitter shades, oh and also the black texture too... so if I absolutely *had* to choose just 3, I'm thinking that those would be the ones I'd be choosing.

What do you think my lovelies? Do you like the look of the collection, are there any shades in particular that you must have in your life?

Rococo 'Lady of the Manor' Polish Collection for Autumn 2013!

I can't believe we're looking towards autumn already! However, I just love the look of these new shades being brought out by nail brand, Rococo this autumn. Pony Club is definitely the one jumping out at me, but honestly, I could see myself wearing every one of the shades in the collection.

Whaddya think?

Ciaté 'Treasured Possessions' Collection!

Just noticed a sneak peak of an upcoming 'Treasured Possessions' collection on the Ciaté Facebook page, I think I spy some of the shades from this post last month - how exciting!

I'm definitely going to need to get my hands on them all, they look right up my street (ie, they're full of glitter and shimmer) but are also perfect for Christmas and party season for those who don't normally bother with glitter (even if only on the tips of the nails), don't you think?

ORLY Spring 2012 - Cool Romance!

What do you make of ORLY's spring 2012 collection, Cool Romance? It looks like a nice collection, but I'm a bit worried that the shades don't appear to be that inspiring on the image. I do like the look of the pink, grey, taupe and lavender shades in it (will find out shade names asap) but it's hard to tell if they have anything a bit more special to them, such as the finish etc. Will report back when I find out more.

What do you think about it s far?

Got to say, I am LOVING the look of at least 8 of them in that photograph. Will find out more very soon for you all!

Yves Saint Laurent Rouge Volupte, Shade 112 - Spellbinding Violet!

The last time I wore such a deep and dark lipstick was probably in my teen years, I’m thinking it could have been Black Cherry by Rimmel and looking back, it was all so (SO) wrong, which is why I was a little worried when I received this particular shade from the YSL autumn 2011 collection.

I really thought it might be too dark and too harsh for me, but actually I’m rather pleasantly surprised as it’s much more wearable than I first imagined, and versatile too as you can dab it on as a stain to give an even sheerer finish! I actually love the colour and that it has flecks of magenta sparkle running through it that add dimension and depth to it, I actually think it would make a fabulous nail polish! Apologies for the lip swatch photographs, they aren’t the best, I took them on a day whilst I was poorly, my lips were dry and my skin was drained of colour too!

Flash
 No flash!

Mr Beauty Scoop would disagree with my sentiments about the shade of this lipstick (his actual words were ‘sh!@ty horrible dark lipstick’), but then he’s a bit of a bore where my make-up is concerned, he doesn’t like anything too bright, colourful or dark (so it seems now)... but truth be told, I don’t listen to him all that much where these things are concerned – ha!

The lipstick wears well, just like you’d expect a Rouge Volupté to (even with their glossy finish) and actually survived me drinking from a glass (no straw) and eating a sandwich – it was a little sheerer afterwards, but there was definitely plenty of colour left on my lips. I really do think you get what you pay for with these!
After Eating!

I have a penchant for luxury brands, I make no secret of this fact and Yves Saint Laurent lipsticks in particular really satisfy my need for such luxuries – especially with their gorgeous gold casings! Aren’t they lovely?!

What do you think of this shade, is it something you’d wear, or is it too scary for you?

The smoky eye is in full force over at YSL for their Holiday 2011 collection... I am loving the look of the black/grey shade palette and I actually saw this being worn by the YSL lady at the YSL counter in Manchester's Boots store and it looked amazing! Also loving that they have included a matte and glossy black polish, I do love them when used together (see above).

Below the Holiday 2011 products there's also a new lipstick line being released, Rouge Pur Couture which looks fabulous - especially that pink!

I can't believe I am saying this, but Christmas is coming(!) and I've already started doing my Christmas shopping and my own wish list (trying to be organised, for once); so I think now is a great time to tell you about the gorgeous looking Paul & Joe Christmas Collection so you can add your favourite pieces onto your Christmas wish list to Santa! The collection includes:

Ornamental Self Select Eye Colour's, £12 each - These come in pretty little boxes with different designs and a ribbon attached, so they can also double up as Christmas Decorations once you've got your shadow out. I love this idea, the hippy in me likes less waste and this is such a great way of doing it.

They're colourful and sparkly amd they're perfect for Christmas (although frankly, I think that you could easily get away with wearing them in the summer too).
