A Festive Chanel & Dune Mini Haul!

2 weeks ago, I decided that whilst I was out doing my Christmas shopping and spending lots on my loved ones, that I'd also treat myself to a little something. I ended up with 3 small (ish) but perfectly formed (and slightly pricey) 'me gifts' including 2 items from Chanel's Holiday 2011 Collection, Rouge Allure 'Luminous Satin Lip Colour' in the shade Famous (207), a gorgeously festive pink-toned red with added sparkle in there, just for good measure, and the equally festive and similar toned shade, Rouge Carat (587) Le Vernis Nail Polish.

Swatches coming soon!

My final purchase of the day was a beautiful pair of Dune shoes (The Sparkling Shoe), and not only are they totally gorgeous and super sparkly, they're also limited edition and raising money for the Teenage Cancer Trust with a whopping £50 from their £90 price tag going to the charity, which makes them quite possibly the best pair of shoes I have ever bought, and also the easiest purchase to justify to Mr Beauty Scoop!
The shoes look pink at first glance, but they actually contain multi-coloured glitter particles that pick up different lights and colours from the area surrounding them. Stunning.

Chanel Holiday 2011 - Les Scintillances De Chanel!

Holiday 2011 for Chanel looks to be a  very classic affair with reds, blacks, beige and gold all featuring heavily in the collection. To me, this screams Christmas, and I LOVE it!! The collection will be on counters on November 4th!

Complexion:
LUMIÈRE SCULPTÉE DE CHANEL - A gorgeous looking highlighting powder!

"A simple brushstroke adorns the face with an iridescent halo of beige sprinkled with gold. The sheer powder catches the light on cheekbones and sweeps lightly over the forehead or chin to accentuate the structure of the face"

POUDRE UNIVERSELLE LIBRE - A radiance/brightening loose powder!

"Ideal in evening lighting, a simple cloud of this evanescent powder preserves the freshness and translucency of the complexion. Comes in  FÉERIE, a delicate pink shade, finely strewn with gold."

Eyes:

LIGNE EXTRÊME - A light reflecting liner that sounds divine.

"Traced along the base of upper lashes, a line of  LIGNE EXTRÊME lights up the eyes. Applied along the base of lower lashes, it reflects the light, emphasises the gaze and draws attention to the beauty of the eyes."

OMBRE ESSENTIELLE - Shimmering solo eyeshadows that look amazing - I need!!

"On eyelids in  BLAzING GOLD combines gold and mother-of-pearl, while its  BEIGE LAMÉ version offers a natural tone illuminated with multicoloured sparkles. When worked with a sheer finish, the shadow pigments fully express themselves and reveal intangible shades that shimmer in the changing lights."

OMBRE CONTRASTE DUO - Complementary duo  matte/shimmer eyeshadows!

"With golden reflections. In NOIR-IVOIRE makes any look possible. The creamy and luminous light shadow dresses the eyelid in a pearly halo for an eyeopening effect. The more intense, matte and powdery shadow adds depth and structure for dramatic eyes."

Lips
ROUGE ALLURE - These lipsticks sound amazing, read on!

"The ultimate, ultra-feminine beauty accessory. its satiny second-skin texture dresses up the smile in bold and daring colours with an inimitable touch of provocation. With  FAMOUS, red becomes vibrant, subtly nuanced with a dash of  “shocking pink”.  With  ENIVRÉE,  elegant pink is warmed with gold."

ROUGE ALLURE LAQUE - Smooth, pigmented lipstick!

"Adorns the lips with a perfectly mastered graphic effect: its cream texture, lacquered shine and fine, precise artist’s applicator make it a high-precision instrument of seduction. Its EMPIRE shade indulges in the charm of a gold-speckled rosewood."

LÈVRES SCINTILLANTES - Shimmery lipglosses that are ideal for party season!
"The ultra-shiny gloss by CHANEL, combines freshness and sensuality.  SWEET BEIGE, an elegant nude, reveals slightly sparkling effects, while  SPARKLE D'OR  offers a sheer shade filled with golden facets."

ROUGE ALLURE EXTRAIT DE GLOSS - A luxury lip gloss!

"Makes lips shine with intense, sophisticated and luminous colours.  the seductive gloss by CHANEL comes in an original shade: TRIOMPHAL, a vibrant and ardent red that wavers between glamour and playfulness."

Creative director of CHANEL Makeup, Peter Phillips has designed this trio of nail polishes, especially for Vogue's annual Fashion's Night Out celebrations! The theme of the collection is quite clearly, denim, and I've got to say, I think they look fabulous. I especially like the look of Blue Rebel and Blue Boy!

"A gradation of three shades, from medium to very pale blue, as essential and fun as a well-loved and wellworn pair of jean"

Available from tomorrow, 8th September 2011 in 'Selfridges W1, Chanel Bond Street and Selfridges Boutiques' and from Saturday 10th September 2011 in 'Chanel Makeup Studios in Harrods, Fenwicks Newcastle, House of Fraser Glasgow, and also Chanel Fashion Boutiques'.

Chanel Le Vernis Nail Polish, Miami Peach (203) - Swatched!

Chanel’s Miami Peach nail polish is a beautiful peachy hue with subtle gold shimmer running through it. I’d say on my skin that it was a pink-y peach, although actually in some lights (as you’ll see in the photographs) it actually seemed more orange-y!

I really love this summery shade, it applied nicely, although it did require 3 or 4 coats to achieve the desired ‘look’ - 3 looked ‘ok’ but as you can see on the photographs 4 coats look a lot better! It also dried quickly between coats which made things easier on that score.

Wear time was great too, I think it was about 4 or 5 days before I noticed any tip wear which is perfectly acceptable for me, and I think I could have probably worn it a week without any issues if I didn’t have so many other nail polishes to swatch for you haha!

Likey?

Chanel Fall 2011 Le Vernis Nail Colour - GRAPHITE (529)!

Meet Chloe, my new model!
Another of the very soon to be released Chanel Fall 2011 collection is Graphite, a beautifully metallic grey-silver nail polish that stays true to the name it was given, even down to the finish of the polish – see the picture below.
I really love the colour of this; it’s one of those shades that you can wear with anything without it being boring. It’s anything BUT boring, actually as I find the colour can pick up different hues from the surrounding areas to being out very slight changes in its tone. It doesn’t actually CHANGE colour, but if you’re near something brown/orange or even yellow you tend to notice the polish has more of a gold tinge to it. If you’re next to something white, or blue even I think it shows up more like a true silver-grey etc.

To look at the finish, at a first glance it just looks very metallic and shiny, very minx-like; but when you look closer you can see that it’s actually almost a very fine glittery effect where you can see the different tones running through it. It’s a gorgeous polish, and one that I find myself looking at almost constantly, moving my fingers to make the light reflect off it even more – is that weird? I seem to do it with a lot of pretty nail polishes.

Application was great; it applied with ease and took 3 coats to avoid any patchiness. It also dried quickly, meaning that the application process was over and done with just as quickly which is fabulous for me as I love nail polish but hate applying it.

I got a small chip after 3 days of wear; however it was near the cuticle and could potentially be my application as the rest has stayed as perfect as the day I put it on. The chip was easily disguised too, because of the finish of the polish I was able to fill it in and then just go over the whole nail after, without it looking like I had done a repair.

When I first saw this polish, the first thing that popped into my head as a potential dupe was OPI ‘Lucerrne-tainly Look Marvelous’ but after comparing the 2 polishes I can 100% say that it is NOT a dupe. The OPI is darker for a start and leans towards a more blue-toned grey whereas I think Graphite has more of a green-y gold tinge to it in comparison, to my eye anyway!

The finishes are different too, at first glance you think they may be the same but the Chanel is almost certainly more sparkly and seems to be more multifaceted too.

Graphite will be available on Friday August 19th 2011.

Chanel Fall 2011 Le Vernis Nail Colour - PÉRIDOT!

This is the much talked about shade from the upcoming fall 2011 collection from Chanel, and I can totally see why it has been talked about so much, it is exquisite! The multichromatic hue is divine, with shades of green, gold and even bronze and turquoise appearing, depending on the lighting and surrounding areas.

It’s a thin-ish polish but still applies like a dream, and was a (rather surprisingly) solid 2 coater! It also dries super quickly, and yet I still managed to knock it – go me!

The overall finish is stunning; it actually looks like I’ve had my nails minxed as it’s so metallic and shiny. I can’t think of any dupes for this, at all – maybe you could franken something together but honestly, I still think it would be incredibly difficult to get a perfect dupe, even doing that.

Close up, the finish of the polish looks like a foiled effect which means it can look like there’s brush strokes showing, but there aren’t – and at any normal distance away it just looks fabulously multichromatic metallic – I don’t even know if that description makes sense, but that’s what it looks like!

Plenty of photos in different lights, as per usual – and especially because of the nature of the polish, hope you like!

Will you be buying this on the 19th? I’ll definitely be trying to get a backup of it - I love it!
