Wordless (ish) Wednesday - Fun at Vogue Fashion's Night Out @ Selfridges, Manchester 2013!

Started with a couple of drinks.

Chanel manicures, large crowds, shoes and soap stars.
More cosmopolitan cocktails.
Sweet treat stands, although I didn't make use of these as I forgot.
It's only Henry Holland... what a nice guy!
Eliza Doolittle playing music at MAC.
Oh go on then, one more of Mr Holland.
I had such a brilliant night, did a lot of celeb spotting, made a little use of the free bar, and generally just had a brilliant time there. Please come back to Manchester soon, Vogue.

Ciaté Feather Manicures!

Ciaté have really been bringing out the big guns in the at home nail art/manicure world in recent times, what with their Caviar, Velvet, Sequin and Chalkboard Manicure kits (to name but a few, all of which I have yet to actually trial) being released; and so I am not surprised to see yet another weird, yet wonderful kit from them appearing on my nail-dar.

Their new 'Feather Manicure' kits (£20 each) actually look like such good fun, and are definitely something different from the norm. I could see me using the feather manicure kits mostly on an accent nail or 2, as opposed to doing a full manicure on all nails. I think this way the kit would first of all last longer, but also stop it being too much of a good thing.

In the image above there are two out of the three kits available showing, but there's also a snow owl version, containing monochrome feathers that I couldn't find the full set of images for, but can be viewed on the Selfridges site, where the kits are available to buy.

What do you think about these kits? Are they something you could see yourself wearing, or do you think it's a step too far/too much faff?

Wordless Wednesday - Chloe Loves Cosmetics!

Caught in the act!
She's clearly not bothered, and goes back to sleep.

I couldn't help but think that my cat, has acquired my taste for luxury cosmetics after finding her lay on a pile of products I had lined up to photograph. She's too cute though, I couldn't move her - so she went back to sleep, and I waited for her to get off so I could do my photographs. She totally wears the trousers in our relationship.

I'm thinking that she could start doing some modelling for Chanel, Clarins, YSL or Selfridges with these pictures haha, what do you think?

Hope you're enjoying my photographs of Chloe, I must spend most of my time doing it as she's so cute.

Selfridges Beauty Advent Calendar 2011!

Last year saw most of us lusting after a brilliant beauty advent calendar costing £60, and they clearly realise how successful it was, since they've only gone and done it again this year! And, even though I probably own a large amount of the products included (that's NOT the point though), I still find myself wooed by this little beauty!

The calendar, which is exclusive to Selfridges is now £80, but just look at what you get... I don't think that's too bad going for all the goodies below!
  • Lancôme Teint Miracle 03 5ml, Trésor eau de parfum 7.5ml, Miracle eau de parfum 5ml, Hypnôse Drama Mascara 2ml, Hypnôse Classic Mascara 2ml, Absolu Nu 302 Mini, Mini Juicy Tube 19 – Lychee, Visionnaire 7ml, Génifique 7ml, Génifique Yeux 5ml, Rénergie Lift Volumetry Day 15ml, Eau Micellaire Douceur 50ml, Bi–Facil 30ml
  • Giorgio Armani⁄Emporio Armani Armani Code Femme eau de parfum 3ml, Emporio Armani Diamonds eau de parfum 5ml
  • Kiehl's Kiehl's Ultra Facial Cream 7ml, Kiehl's Crème De Corps 30ml, Kiehl's Hand Salve 30ml, Kiehl's Midnight Recovery Concentrate 4ml
  • Shu Uemura Cleansing Oil 20ml
  • Viktor & Rolf Flowerbomb eau de parfum 7ml
  • YSL Belle D'Opium eau de parfum 7.5ml, Rouge Pur Couture Mini, Khol Pencil Mini
I expect Mr Beauty Scoop's answer to my request will be much the same as last year (see previous thread, linked above) but I'm going to pester him for one anyway (if you don't ask, you don't get)!

What do you think my lovelies? x

My Recent Selfridges Haul!

I paid for some additional Muji storage over the phone from the Muji concession at Selfridges in the Trafford Centre about 6 weeks ago, but promptly forgot about it more or less as soon as I had put down the phone. Anyway, I got a call a couple of weeks ago to ask if I was going to be picking them up soon which prompted a trip there and a mini (but expensive) haul ensued. I bought:
  1. 2 Muji acrylic storage units (2 drawer, wide) - well, I collected them anyway!
  2. 3 Giorgio Armani Eyes to Kill Eyeshadows (shades 2, 3 and 14)
  3. Chanel Rose Platine Eyeliner
  4. Clarins Beauty Flash Balm
I also tried to buy a back up MAC Hibiscus lipstick, but failed... anybody know where I may still get one (other than eBay)?

Will post about each product separately in more detail! x

 Shade 2.
Shade 3
Shade 14.

Sisley Party Season Facial Offer At Selfridges, London.

This is just a little heads up that if you’re planning on a visit to Selfridges in London; you might want to check out Sisley whilst you’re there. They’re offering express facials in 2 flavours to give your skin some much needed TLC (especially with party season looming, and cold weather/central heating already upon us).

These facials require a £35 booking fee, but this is redeemable against any purchase of 2 or more Sisley skincare products on the day of treatment – which is great if you were already planning on making these purchases as it essentially makes the facial a free bonus. If you weren’t already planning on purchasing, it could give you a great excuse to introduce yourself to Sisley products.

The first facial on offer is a ‘Pre Party Preparation Express Facial’ and claims to leave skin ‘smoothed, refined and radiant ready for a night out’. They say that your skin will be left in great condition – hydrated, smooth and plump, providing a perfect base to apply your make-up!

The second facial they’re offering is a ‘Post Party Recovery Facial’ that claims to leave your skin feeling fresh and revitalised. Removing every trace of dirt and make-up and allowing your skin to breathe again which they say will leave your skin looking ‘bright, radiant and rested’.

Treatments can be booked by calling Sisley at Selfridges on 020 7318 3475.

Exclusive To Selfridges - The Beauty Advent Calendar!

Christmas is getting ever closer, and something that is always associated with the run up to Christmas (aside from shopping and stress) is advent calendars. They’re commonly made up of sweet treats that you inevitably end up feeling a little guilty about eating (especially if they belong to your son/daughter/younger sibling etc) every morning in December.

If you’re bored of chocolate advent calendars (not bored of chocolate, I hasten to add) or think they’re just for kids, and have a spare £60 then this is just the advent calendar you need. It’s a beautiful beauty advent calendar and it’s packed with 24 luxury items that you can look forward to ‘receiving’ every morning in the run up to Christmas.

“Indulge in 24 days of luxury with this exclusive beauty advent calendar. Including products from YSL, Lancome, Giorgio Armani, Kiehl's, Shu Uemura, Viktor and Rolf and Stella McCartney, it's a unique way to count down to Christmas.”

I noticed it earlier, whilst browsing online and promptly asked Mr Beauty Scoop if I could “have a £60 advent calendar this year” he answered very quickly with something along the lines of “can you f#@k!!” so I assume that’s a no then. In his defence, he didn’t know it wasn’t chocolate that I wanted him to spend £60 on, but we all know that that’s not the point!

Anyway, if you don’t live with a miserable tightwad (ha!) or indeed if you just fancy treating yourself then you can find these exclusively at Selfridges. If you do get one, be sure to let me know what you think of it!
