Chanel Le Vernis Nail Polish, Miami Peach (203) - Swatched!

Chanel’s Miami Peach nail polish is a beautiful peachy hue with subtle gold shimmer running through it. I’d say on my skin that it was a pink-y peach, although actually in some lights (as you’ll see in the photographs) it actually seemed more orange-y!

I really love this summery shade, it applied nicely, although it did require 3 or 4 coats to achieve the desired ‘look’ - 3 looked ‘ok’ but as you can see on the photographs 4 coats look a lot better! It also dried quickly between coats which made things easier on that score.

Wear time was great too, I think it was about 4 or 5 days before I noticed any tip wear which is perfectly acceptable for me, and I think I could have probably worn it a week without any issues if I didn’t have so many other nail polishes to swatch for you haha!

Chanel Fall 2011 Illusion D'Ombres, 86, ÉBLOUI - Swatched!

Ébloui is the final Illusion D’Ombre eyeshadow in the fall 2011 collection from Chanel; it’s out today, by the way and, along with the rest of the Illusion D'Ombre shades, is a permanent addition to the Chanel range!

It’s a beautiful rusty brown hue and has the most delicate sparkles running through it that catch the light fantastically – see how the different colour sparkles come through on the photographs on my eye.

You’ll not be surprised to know, with it being a darker shade that this is one of the more pigmented shades in the collection and it’s actually really easy to work with too, probably due to the (rather good) formulation.

This shade lasted quite a while, but not quite as long as the black which was incredibly long lasting, even when a fair amount of the sparkle had all but gone, there was still the black hue in place which is good enough for me and didn’t look worn out either. I got a solid 8 hours of strong wear, with a slight deterioration afterwards; again it didn’t look bad at this point either.

What do you think of the colour? Is it something you’d pick?

Chanel Fall 2011 Illusion D'Ombres, 82, ÉMERVEILLÉ - Swatched!

Émerveillé is a beautiful peachy toned shadow that has an almost metallic quality about it, yet sparkles delicately in the light. It’s not as pigmented as the darker shades in the range, but that’s to be expected really.

Application needed a touch more effort, which I guess is down to the pigmentation too, but it’s not a deal breaker as it does still last quite well; again it’s not quite as long lasting as the darker hues but it did me ok for an evening out with no issues.

What I have found with the lighter toned Illusion D’Ombres is that they could also be great when used to highlight the skin too (see below)... more so with the Fantasme as I think you’d have to check how Émerveillé looked with your own skin tone.

Chanel Fall 2011 Illusion D'Ombres, 85, MIRIFIQUE - Swatched!

Mirifique is another of the Chanel Illusion D’Ombre eyeshadows that will be released tomorrow!! This is an amazing, and very sparkly black gel shadow (same formula as the others I have swatched) that is massively pigmented – and that isn’t exaggerating at all.

The swatches on my hand show a very light swipe of the product on the left that hasn’t been blended at all, to show you how black and pigmented it really is. The swatch on the right is what was left on the brush and I have blended it out a bit, just to show you that you don’t have to wear it blacker than black if you don’t want to. I mentioned in previous posts that you can use these as eyeliners and I have to say, this one is perfect for the job!

Bottom right hand photo: this was done at an angle to show you how black the shadow is without the sparkle being as present.

The shadow lasts brilliantly on the eye, just like the others in the range and a little goes a long way because of how incredibly pigmented it is; so even though the product is a little bit pricey, it probably will end up being very good value for the amount of wear you could get out of it.

Very quickly swiped over my eye, excuse the shoddy application - it actually didn't look that bad in 'reality' though!

I think this is one of my favourites in the range, what do you think?

P.S: I am a little delayed with posting all of these up due to recent circumstances, but I will get the rest of the range up asap so excuse if I slightly rush through the reviews as I have given my thoughts a bit more in depth on the formula in the other posts, although if there’s anything that changes in the upcoming colours (ie not as pigmented, or don’t last as long etc), then that will be in there. x

Chanel Fall 2011 Illusion D'Ombres, 83, ILLUSOIRE - Swatched (Badly, Sorry)!

Chanel Illusion D’Ombre in shade 83, ILLUSOIRE is a gorgeous purple-y colour, with just a hint of grey coming through when applied on the skin – part of me wants to liken it to Paradoxal in colour, but it’s not the same shade of purple. It is still very beautiful.

My camera hasn’t caught this very well I’m afraid (both swatches and in the pot), purples are notoriously hard to photograph accurately and this is no different as the camera hasn’t quite picked up enough of the purple in it. Don’t get me wrong, it’s not a striking purple as the grey does mute it down but it is a bit more apparent than the swatch photographs show.

Application is smooth, it blends beautifully too. Staying power is great, as with the other shades (here and here) I’ve swatched so far – not budging even when I accidentally forgot I was wearing this and rubbed my eye (I ALWAYS do this)!!

As with the rest of the collection, this is out on August 19th!
