Feel Unique Beauty Box Is No More!

I think this is a bit of a shame, as most people always seemed happy with the Feel Unique Beauty Box. I don't know the reason(s) why it's being discontinued but it sounds like there'll be something to fill the gap in the not too distant future.

As a valued customer, I wanted to be the first to let you know that we’ve taken the decision to close our Beauty Box service.

At feelunique.com we pride ourselves on delivering exceptionally high standards of value, service and quality and we're constantly reviewing the way we do things.

Each month we've been listening and taking onboard all of your comments and ideas. We understand that like us, you love beauty and trying new things and it's with this in mind that we believe there's a better way of delivering a bespoke, high quality sampling service based on your individual needs. For this reason, we will be closing Beauty Box indefinitely as of this month.

We realise this may come as a surprise and not without disappointment, but we would like to reassure you that we're working hard on perfecting our new and improved service which we are planning on launching in the coming months.

If you are a Monthly Subscriber, your monthly subscription payment has now been terminated and no more payments will be taken.

If you are an Annual Subscriber, a refund will be issued for the remaining months from March onwards. You will also receive a written confirmation of this in the post for your records.

On behalf of feelunique.com I would like to thank you for your loyal custom and support and hope to see you again soon.

If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact our Beauty Box Care Team: Tel +44 (0) 845 643 0119, Email beautybox@feelunique.com

Here's to the next big adventure, watch this space…

Kind Regards,

What do you think? Good, bad or indifferent? Personally, I'll kind of miss it, but I guess it saves me a bit of money in the long run.

Mega Value Sets at Feel Unique!

I love a bargain, although I never really 'save money' in terms of money going out of my bank, as I usually end up spending even more, as I always end up buying more than I intend to - it reminds me of a Little Britain sketch with Marjorie Dawes where 'she' claimed that 'half the calories, means you can eat twice as much' - never a truer word spoken, and a rule that I appear to live my life by - ha!

Anyway, I came across this little sale at Feel Unique in an email, and thought it would be good to pass on the products that stood out to me most, to you guys.

  1. Bare Escentuals Perfect Gift @ Feel Unique!, £29.80 - This set contains: bareMinerals Original Mineral Veil 2g, bareMinerals Blush: Avant-Garden 0.85g, bareMinerals Eyecolor: Crème de la Crème 0.57g, bareMinerals Eyecolor: Magnifique 0.57g, bareMinerals Big & Bright Eyeliner Pencil: Black Coffee 0.35g, bareMinerals Pretty Amazing Lipcolor: Courage 4ml, bareMinerals Flawless Application Face Brush and a bareMinerals Vanity Box. The RRP of all these items separately is £114, so it's a great saving.
  2. All For Eve Beautiful Hand Gift Set @ Feel Unique!, £12 - This set contains: All For Eve Swarovski Crystal Nail File and All For Eve Red Nail Polish 10m. Great products for a great cause... you can't go wrong.
  3. Tigi Catwalk Your Highness Volume Collection @ Feel Unique!, £12.95 - The set contains: TIGI Catwalk Your Highness Volume Collection Elevating Shampoo 300ml, TIGI Catwalk Your Highness Volume Collection Nourishing Conditioner 250ml and TIGIPRO X-Large Round Brush.
  4. Redken All Soft Gift Set, £15.30 -  Contains: Redken All Soft Shampoo 300ml and Redken All Soft Conditioner 250ml. Now I've used the shampoo and it is fabulous, it absolutely does what it says on the tin as it left my hair feeling so soft, and loely.
  5. Mavala All Tha Glitters - Pure Diamond, £6.50 - This contains: Mavala Pure Diamond Nail Colour 5ml and Mavala New York Nail Colour 5ml and it looks lovely, don't you think?
  6. Mavala All That Glitters - Black Diamond, £6.50 - This contains: - Mavala Gold Diamond Nail Colour 5ml and Mavala Black Diamond Nail Colour 5ml. Another lovely looking set.
  7. Elizabeth Arden High Shine Lip Gloss Set, £16.50 - This contains: Elizabeth Arden High Shine Lip Gloss Berrylicious 4ml, Elizabeth Arden High Shine Lip Gloss Candlelight 4ml, Elizabeth Arden High Shine Lip Gloss Shimmering Rose 4ml, Elizabeth Arden High Shine Lip Gloss Sparkle Mauve in an Elizabeth Arden Red Croc pouch with leopard print lining. I got my mum a set like this a few years ago, and she loved it - I can't imagine this being too different to that one.
Will you be buying anything? I have all of the items in my basket currently, but am on a bit of a spending ban due to vets bills for Chloe, so I'm trying desperately not to buy anything!

Feel Unique Monthly Beauty Box - October Contents!

October’s Feel Unique Box has now arrived and as ever, I’d like to show you the contents. The reason for is that I still think that the Feel Unique box isn’t quite as well known or widely blogged about as the likes of Glossybox and Boudoir Privé; and also because it contains some more mainstream brands that may appeal to readers of this blog who haven’t yet heard of it or who would like to see a multiple box content posts to judge whether or not they think it would contain products that would be right for them. So without further ado, here is what I received!

Full Size:
Tigi Catwalk Sleek Mystique Mystique Straight Collection Blow Out Balm, 90ml (£10.35) – This blow out balm promises to give ‘touchable, glossy hair without sacrificing natural fullness’ which sounds great as straight hair can often mean lifeless hair with no body. I’m looking forward to giving this a whirl!
ORLY ‘Mani Minis’ Nail Lacquer, 5.3ml (£5) – I’ve put this into full sized products because whilst this is a mini compared to the full sized 18ml bottles, these actually get sold in Boots at a fiver each, so I feel is still a full sized product that can be bought as such! I love ORLY nail polishes, so I’m really pleased to get this and let’s face it, you can never really go wrong with a classic red polish!

Good Sized Samples:
Bliss Fabulous Foaming Face Wash, 60ml, £5.60 (Full size 197ml, £18.40) – This is a 2-in-1 cleanser and exfoliator and my first impressions are very good, it smells lovely and the exfoliating grains are very fine, yet still did a nice job of exfoliating my hand. I can’t use it on my face as I am currently doing other skincare trials but it does look promising.
Crabtree & Evelyn India Hicks Island Living Spider Lily Hand Therapy, 25ml, £3.50 (Full size 100g, £14.00) – Despite the rather terrifying mention of a spider in the name of the product, I actually really like this hand cream. The tube reminds me of the L’Occitane style tubes and it’s a good sized sample but one that can easily be put into my handbag and carried around with me (very useful). I haven’t used it long term, but after using it a couple of times I do feel that it moisturises very well and it also smells GORGEOUS, I can’t stop smelling my hands after applying it!!
Caudalíe Vinexpert Radiance Day Fluid, 10ml, £10.20 (Full size 30ml, £30.60) –This product is said to offer ‘firming, protective and anti-wrinkle action along with optimum moisture to ensure a glowing complexion all day long’ which sounds very nice indeed, don’t you think? Last month’s box also contained a Caudalíe product, one from their Vinoperfect range, but I’m still looking forward to giving this a try too!

Normal Sample Size:
Burberry Body EDP Fragrance Sample, 2ml, £2.57 (Full size 35ml, £45) – I like the idea of getting perfume samples but I always have at the back of my mind that I could generally get these vial samples for free from department stores etc... and I actually do have a free sample of this fragrance coming from their Facebook promotion. Regardless, it’s a very nice perfume indeed (kind of sweet and musky all at the same time), and because it’s an EDP you don’t need to use as much, meaning the sample should last a little longer.

My box contents are worth approximately £37.22 in total which is quite good for the price I paid. I’m still ‘feeling’ the Feel Unique box so I will continue for yet another month. Do any of this month’s contents grab your attention?

Oh, I almost forgot to mention that you get 10% off all brands featured in the beauty box each month which is a nice bonus. The code for this month is BBOCT10 – I hope they don’t mind me putting this on for you, I can’t see how it would be a problem though, as any sale when using this code is a bonus for them!

The Feel Unique Beauty Box is available here for £9.95 per month.

Feel Unique Beauty Box - September Contents!

Last month I posted my Feel Unique Beauty Box contents and now that time has come again, as I have actually been pleasantly surprised with what I received this month.

Full Sizes:

New CID Picture Perfect Kit (Worth £25, from what I can find about it online) - I’m guessing that they wanted to get rid of their stock of these as I can’t see them on the website, I am happy to receive though as it’s a cute little set and the eyeshadows look particularly lovely. Also included in the kit is a mini mascara, lipgloss and highlighter. I've added 2 photographs, purely because the bottom one, which wasn't going to be posted, shows the sparkle quite well, especially of the darker shadow!
Balm Balm Face Balm, 30ml (£6.99) – Looks quite nice, I’m looking forward to trying this out on my dry patches (and psoriasis) and it’s 100% natural too, which is a bonus (I don’t make a beeline for natural products, but it is always nice to find out that something is, if I have it)!

Good Size Samples/Minis:

Ella Baché Créme Tomate L’Originale, 30ml, £27.60 (Full Size 50ml, £46) – I have never heard of this before, it appears to be some kind of radiance balm, I haven’t tried it out yet, but I’m leaning to thinking it could be something like Clarins Beauty Flash Balm. Anyway, I look forward to trying this out!

Redken Quick Dry 18 Hairspray, 100ml (£3.15) – From my experience of the brand so far, Redken deliver great results when it comes to haircare, so I’m very interested to see how this hairspray performs in comparison to my beloved Elnett!

Di Palomo Wild Fig Grape Enriching Hand & Nail Cream, 25ml, £2.33 (Full size 75ml, £6.99) – I have actually given this a little test as I am a sucker for handcreams due to my dry patches of psoriasis being most visible on them and it feels lovely; it’s a thick, but none greasy cream that is absorbed almost immediately and it smells DIVINE!! I haven’t seen any long term use benefits but from my short experience, I will definitely be buying this one again as it’s such a bargain too (although the packaging make it look more expensive than it really is)!

Proper Samples:

Caudalíe Vinoperfect Day Perfecting Fluid, 3ml, £3.23 (Full size 30ml, £32.30) – this apparently helps to revive dull, lifeless and pigmented skin. After a very quick try of this on my hand, I felt that it made my skin feel really soft and smooth, and generally lovely... and I’m not entirely sure if it was my mind playing tricks on me, but I did also feel that my skin looked a little bit more revived. This one is another that smells gorgeous and I’d definitely consider repurchasing!

Elie Saab Le Parfum EDP, 1ml, £1.26 (Full size 30ml, £38) – I actually quite like this perfume, it’s a floral but woody scent and it reminds me of Lush Karma fragrance, and having looked up the notes in each, I can see that they both share the same top note of Orange/Orange Blossom so that could be why I am instantly thinking of Karma when I smell this. I’d consider repurchasing this too!

So, all in all it has been quite a successful box for me – lots of products, some full sizers and of the few products I have given a try, I have wanted to repurchase most. Well done Feel Unique, you have pulled this one right out of the bag box!

Available from Feel Unique, £10 per month!

Feel Unique Beauty Box - Contents!

I’ve had Glossy Box for quite a while now, since the first box, actually and I’ve been fairly pleased with it for the most part... I’ve had my issues with it, a can of Batiste being a case in point for most people, but also things arriving broken (rather annoyingly a body oil that ended up ruining a dress and covering everything in the box with it) or missing completely.

I decided that I’d give the Feel Unique equivalent a trial, figuring it couldn’t hurt to do so... so here are my thoughts on what I received!

In the box there were 6 items, I haven’t tested them out yet, I’m purely reporting back on the contents of the box and if I thought it was worth signing up to:

bareMinerals Flawless Definition Mascara 5ml (Full Size 10ml £16 RRP) – I don’t think this is too bad for a sample, it’s half sized and that would make it worth roughly £8 at full retail cost (although you can get the full tube for less if you shop around, but for the purpose of this post, I’ll work from the RRP), and, as with most mascara, should last quite a while.
Thalgo Spray Frigimince, 50ml (Full Size 150ml £27 RRP) – This is a toning and refining spray, 1/3 of the full size product, which makes it roughly £9 worth of product (again, if going against full priced product). This is another product that I think should last a decent amount of time, enough to get a feel for the product and if it works for you.
Decléor Aroma Cleanse Mousse, 15ml & Muslin Cloth (Full Size 100ml £24.50 (ish) RRP) – This is a product that I actually bought the full size of prior to receiving it in this box, but haven’t got around to using yet. The amount you get is 15% of the full size product, and worth roughly £3.68. I’m not entirely sure that this is quite enough to get a good feel for the product if I am honest, although I have read that you don’t need to use much on each occasion so maybe you could get a decent amount of usage out of it if this is the case.

Xen-Tan Transform Luxe Daily Self Tan in Light/Medium, 30ml (Full Size 236ml £24.99 RRP) – This is a gradual tanner and if I am honest, one I’m slightly disappointed to receive. My problem being that if it’s a gradual tanner, you’re probably going to need to apply it a few times before getting to the shade you want, and there’s simply not enough here to cover your body, maybe even once... let alone 2, 3 or even 4 times. I know it’s a sample, but for me, I just don’t think I could get a good feel for this product from the amount given. It’s approximately 12.7% of the full size product which equates to £3.17 (ish) value.

Jimmy Choo Eau De Parfum (see below), 2ml (Full Size 40ml upwards £39.00 RRP) - I’ve got to say, this is another disappointment, don’t get me wrong... I love the scent (it’s one I am currently lusting after) but it’s something I could probably get for free in a department store if I asked for it. Yes you get a feel for the product as it’s a perfume so you don’t need that much, but I just think it’s a bit much to include something that you could very easily get, and for free if you really wanted to try it out. Value wise, it’s 5% of the smaller sized bottle of fragrance and worth approximately £1.95... or free (sorry, can’t let that one drop, ha).

Philip Kingsley Elasticizer, 20ml (Full Size 150ml £25.00 approx) – This is an intensive hair treatment and you get 13.4% of the full size product, working out to be roughly £3.35 worth of product. I don’t know what to make of the amount in all honesty, maybe if you have short hair it would be plenty, but for people with long hair, I’m just not sure how far this would go and whether you’d see any benefit in the maybe one use you’d get from it.

Total ‘value’ of the box is £29.15 which doesn’t seem too bad for the £10 I paid (including delivery) and the products aren’t too bad, but I wasn’t wowed... although I do think that I have been somewhat spoiled by Glossy Box and their full sized products. I’m going to give it one more delivery to see what I get and see if it’s something I’ll be continuing with or not.

What do you think of the box, have you had one? Did you get the same? Would you be pleased with these contents?
