Sigma Makeup Brushes - Travel Kit (Black) - A Review!

I was sent a set of Sigma brushes to try out as part of my affiliation with Sigma Make-Up and really wanted to tell you all what I thought of them. I had wanted to try Sigma’s brushes for quite a while but had never got around to making a final choice on which ones to try first so being able to try this Sigma Travel Kit out has really helped me on my way!

The reason I say it helped me on my way is because after trying these brushes, I know that I will definitely be purchasing many more of them very soon, as I have been SO impressed by the quality – in fact, I already have a list of what I want to buy in my next order!

All the brushes in the set are soft, but not too soft and have plenty of bristles which are great for picking up the right amount of product for each area! There are 8 brushes included in the set, and at $49 (plus shipping) I think it represents great value. The brushes available in the kit are:
E30 – Pencil Brush: I use this mainly for applying eyeshadow in the crease of my eye, before blending but it’s also good for any other smaller areas too – like the inner corner. I find that it picks up just the right amount of product and applies it effortlessly.
E40 – Tapered Blending Brush: As the name says, I use this for blending. It’s a bit bigger than I am used to, however it still does a great job for me. If you find it is a bit too big for your eye, you could also use it for buffing in concealer, especially to the under-eye area.
E55 – Eye Shading Brush: This is a fantastic brush for packing on the product, and I tend to use this on my lids more than anywhere else. The bristles are dense enough to hold plenty of shadow, but soft enough to not feel hard or restrictive when applying it.
F30 – Large Powder Brush: I quite like to apply my bronzer with this as it’s so soft, which means I don’t get any harsh lines after applying, which can sometimes be the case with harder brushes. It’s a little bit too soft for me to apply mineral make-up that requires buffing, but I’d generally use my Bare Escentuals brushes for that anyway, so it’s of no detriment to the brush for me, but I thought it worth mentioning to you!
F40 – Large Angled Contour Brush: This is a fabulous contouring brush, it’s precise but not too hard (again, no harsh lines when contouring with this gem)... it’s also good for applying regular blusher, if you’re not into contouring.
F50 – Duo Fibre Brush: I had never used one of these brushes before, but had always been curious about if they really did do anything that a regular foundation brush couldn’t and do you know what? I really do think it gives a lovely finish on the skin, something that *could* probably be achieved with a good foundation brush and a bit of extra effort, but this just makes it easy and I like that!
F60 – Foundation Brush: I’ve used (and still use) many different foundation brushes and this will definitely be added into the rotation as it applied my foundation smoothly, with no brush marks dragging all over my face and without sucking up all the product into the bristles too!! A quick tip if you do have a foundation brush that does this is to apply a tiny amount of moisturiser into the bristles before using (after washing) as this makes a barrier of sorts which allows the foundation to go onto your skin, not the bristles! :-)

Overall, I have no hesitation in recommending these brushes to you, they have surpassed my expectations and I am DYING to try out some more, so on pay day I will totally be making an order. Have you ever tried Sigma brushes before?

P.S: Make sure that you stick around as I’ll be posting a giveaway later, for one lucky reader to win this exact set for themselves.
